Overwatch 2- Is Ramattra Viable or not?
archieve.com

I’ll rate Ramattra from Overwatch 2 with the help of reviewing all of his kit one by one:

Omnic Form

1.Void Accelerator(Primary Fire in Omnic form)

Void Accelerator is the staff or Ramattra’s primary fire in Omnic formIt’sts got unlimited dista.  ce, Its details are:

  • Damage:4.5 per projectile(Increased headshot dmg)
  • Ammo: 100
  • Reload time: 1 second

Ok, now let’s talk about my experience with it in Overwatch 2. From what I’ve noticed, the projectiles from the staff travel quite slowly over distance, so it means hitting fast targets is a bit of a challenge. I would say it’s quite much of a spray-and-pray kind of gameplay with it. Just spam and hope you hit the enemies.

Void Barrier(Omnic Form)

  • Health:1000
  • Duration:4 seconds
  • Cooldown:13 seconds

The Void Barrier is Ramattra’s Secondary fire ability in Omnic form. It forms a barrier on an even surface; ce, you can’t rotate it or place it tilted. The 1000 health helps block quite a lot of dm, but the barrier is not a very strong ability considering its frustratingly long cooldown(13 seconds,s), which makes it sort of weak. Another downside is that you can’t place the ability mid-air, so it means you are quite vulnerable to attacks from above.

Nemesis Form

  • Health: +225 Armour
  • Duration: 8 seconds
  • Cooldown: 8 seconds

Pummel(Nemesis Form)

  • Damage: 60
  • Ammo:

Punches pierce barriers and deal dmg through them and to them”

When you switch to the Nemesis form of Ramattra, his primary fire becomes punches known as Pummel. They deal a decent amount of dm, but the most interesting part is something else. This ability can deal damage through barriers and even Zarya’s bubble, and it also deals damage to the barriers! This is indeed a very unique and amazing ability. It doesn’t stop her; it can also hit multiple enemies simultaneously.

But there is one big down side to this ability too i.e whenever you activate this ability, your enemies run away and escape to safety easily because Ramattra doesn’t gain any movement buff with it, he’s still the same slow tank, which makes this ability usage very limited and all in all not that amazing unless your enemies are cornered or you have gotten movement buff from Kiriko ult or Lucio’s speed buff.

2.Block(Nemesis Form)

  • Damage reduction: 75%
  • Move speed: -50%

When we switch to Nemesis form b,asically the secondary fibecomessome the block that well, I’d say blocks a decent amount of damage and can increase the survival chances a little more. The downside is that when in block mode, your movement gets slowed by 5,0%, which is quite a lot. It is quite similar to Doomfist’s block.

3.Ravenous Vortex(Nemesis Form)

  • Damage: 15 dmg per second
  • Duration: 3 seconds
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds

This is the only ability that can be used in both forms in Overwatch 2. This ability, when used, creates a radius in which enemies receive 15 damage per second and are also slowed down. The other amazing thing about this ability is that it can pull down all the airborne characters like Mercy, Pharah, Echo, et,c which I think personally is amazing because these characters tend to annoy me the most.

Although I’d say the pulldown ability of this is not as good as I thought it would, but for trapping/slowing enemies, it’s quite good,o,d especially when combo’d with your staff attacks or pummel.

  • Ultimate
  • Annihilation
  • Duration: 3 seconds, but ∞ when constantly dealing damage

This ability is quite similar to the pummel ability;  the only thing that differentiates it is the trails that keep on damaging enemies within your radius(13 meters).

This ultimate is alright in normal situations, but when contesting an objective or in overtime, where enemies are all crammed in one place, this becomes quite overpowered because as long as there are enemies in your radius, this ability doesn’t end, which makes it unique and powerful.

Conclusio: Is Overwatch 2 Viable or not?

Considering my experience with his abilities I’d say Ramattra when compared to other tanks like Reinhardt, Sigma or Roadhogg is quite underpowered in Overwatch 2, I’d say his survival abilities are not nearly as good as these tanks and to make him viable I would say you would require a dedicated pocket healer for yourself or else you’ll die quite easily, Again i will say this is solely my opinion and it might differ for other people but according to my experience he’s not a terrible tank but he’s only viable with a pocket healer, else he’s not viable at all.
